and today Cuba ends.........

well finally get back to a computer to get in contact with the outside world

Will skim thru things not to bore ye but on the list in this is:
- horseriding trip
- nights out incl

Horse Riding in the Hills outside Trinidad
Got back on a horse last week (first time since the Guatamalan torture in Dec). We hooked up with our Cuban trasvelling family (cool, dead sound family - Stu, Andrea and Ciara) and the 5 of us headed off "up the hills". All in all it was about 1.5 hrs up, half our treck, swim and then the reverse!

Horses were healthier than the last time, but the track was lethal at the start- would be slow to walk on it myself, nota mind on the back of a horse- but with our high levels of riding skills we survived (please translate as hung on as tight as we could!)

Twas a nice trip, saw parts of the National Park and the waterfalls were well worth seeing- and the swim even more rewarding!

Nights out Cuban style
We finally coped onto the "local way" of doing it. We had a ready made party crowd in Trinidad, alog with the crazy Aussies, there was Jim and Sam who were also up for a few good nights out.

Well to the Cuban way is to buy the Rum by the bottle, get a few cokes and some ice and guzzle away!!! As if that was not bad enough there seemed to be an unwritten rule saying:

"if the person aint watching their glass, then top it up, they wont notice"

Needless to say the above resulted in some sickish heads the following mornings, but the photos were fab.

All the bars here have entertainment (payed for by the goverment no less) so loads of dancing and changing tables, nightly crawl was, new bar, new bottle of rum and new band- although one of the scary bands had a habbit of following us around!

Obviously not every night was a serious session, the coolest was the Disco in a cave. It was mad, a real cave and they had every thing in there, bar, lights dance floor etc. Only thing missing was an emergency exit, but it wasnt neeed!

Gotta go now as hopping on a plane to Panama in a few hours

Before that though, must say a big GRACIAS to the Trindad crew Andrea, Ciara, Sam, Jim and Stu ye really made me enjoy a country that i didnt really like! Hope our paths cross agin somewhere. Oh does this ring any bells
