travelling Panama without planning it!

well aint this place turned out to be a surprise........

landed at the Hostel in Panama City and settled as per previous blog on food value here!
Anyway we met up with 2 German girls looking to find someone interested in sharing the rental on a car for a few days. Suited us perfect as with no guidebook or plans of what to do we were well up for being lead around the place!

First on the list was the Panama Canal, damn impressive sight, the sheer size is incredible, then u thing of the sizes and numbers of ship's that past thru it. serious money spinner for the country aswell- average "toll charge" to get thru is $30,000 - nearly as bad as all those new toll roads/bridges in Ireland! Well guess it does save the vessel about 2 weeeks going around the Sth Amer continent!

Off up North we headed to a city called David, not a lot going on here, but a cool Hostel - Purple House Hostel and yes everything here is purple! Cruised around here today, seeing some of the mountain sites etc with the highlight being the Hot Springs in Caldera - scorchio I tell ya! But damn relaxing, then when getting too hot we were able to jump into the nearby river, def got one of those " ah its a great life" feelings today!

Tomorrow it back to Panama city, with a few stops along the way (ie beaches!)
Over and out, off to Lima, Peru the Wednesday, yipeeeeeeeeee
