the last of America

now to back track for a while

The last few days were spent in Naples (west coast of Florida).

Had a lovely hotel just a few mins from the beach (in the car by the way, coz the receptionist said " its 3/4 of a mile which is too far to walk") By the way the way this comment sums up the US attitude to cars, they do/go everywhere in them, Im talking drive-in ATMs etc!!) . No offence intended to any Americans by the way, but ye do all admit the car culture

Then for our last night we went to Miami and had another trip highlight here........... Stop off at another part of the Everglades National Park and got up close and personal with a few more alligators- close as in a about 3 feet away and no fence in between. Man they are lazy creatures, what a life!

The best was still to come as we hopped on board one of those "air boats". You know those boast with a bit propeller at the back (ya do, there always on TV -and there is even one on the Blackwater now!). Anyway that was great speeding around the swamps, cutting through water/long grass/reeds etc. Bit dangerous for those wearing hats and the noise out of it was worse that "the fast boat" down the Mekong River- luckily they provided cotton wool which helped a bit!

Saw loads of animals etc but with the noise was sure of their names, all part of the fun eh
